Lovely’s roadside corn market was out of business until I got the idea of setting up shop on the same spot my grandmother did many years before. My father, Bob, was always a wonderful gardener and would grow 3-4 acres of vegetables to give away to family and friends. In 1985, newly married and finished with my first year of teaching, I put up a card table and business began.
Lovely’s re-established itself that summer with that little card table and an old pick-up truck full of fresh corn. With the help of my husband Steve, Uncles Jack and Dan, and my father, Bob, I was able to continue to build my little business summer by summer. Business would close in late August due to school beginning.
In 2000, Steve and I decided to add a bakery and country café to our farm market. He retired from 25+ years in insurance sales and management to pursue this new venture. I retired from teaching school in 2008. This allowed us both to work at our seasonal business, and to serve our valued customers.
Steve and I take the utmost pride possible in continuing this family farming tradition. We are committed to the community to provide a “down home” flavor.
We thank our many valued customers, because we realize that you are the most important part of the success of Lovely’s Farm Market.
Sincerely,
Robin & Steve
